Cloudflare introduces wallets for AI agents, plans stablecoin payments

Cloudflare has unveiled programmable Wallets specifically designed for AI agents, announcing plans to introduce stablecoin payment features in an upcoming update. The US-based cloud infrastructure company unveiled Cloudflare Wallets on Tuesday, a programmable cryptocurrency wallet tailored for artificial intelligence agents. The product's main objective is to streamline how AI agents authenticate themselves and make payments for APIs and digital content through stablecoin micropayments, enabling what Cloudflare calls "agentic commerce."

According to the company's blog post, users can immediately claim a Cloudflare Wallet handle, while payment functionalities will be rolled out later. Cloudflare intends to merge these wallets with its recently announced Monetization Gateway, which employs Coinbase's x402 protocol to facilitate stablecoin micropayments. As per Will Papper, a Cloudflare software engineer, the wallets will also provide users with the ability to store stablecoins and receive payments across the web.

However, Cointelegraph reached out to Cloudflare for further details on the rollout timeline and additional specifics but has not yet received a response by the time of publication.
