Chef pleads guilty to manslaughter of drug-affected teen near campsite

Jacob Greig, a 33-year-old chef, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on Monday after fatally stabbing a teenager near a campsite in Wilton, New South Wales in November 2024. The boy, aged 15, was camping with friends when some of them took LSD and smoked marijuana, leading to negative reactions. Later, the teenager confronted Greig and another woman in a car after acting wildly and attempting to enter the vehicle.

Greig slashed the boy's forearm with a knife, believing it was necessary to protect himself or the woman from the teenager. The teenager was found dead the next morning approximately 50 meters from where the group had last seen him. Greig will return to Campbelltown District Court in September for sentencing.
