Access Bank and Mantrac Ghana seal financing partnership to power construction and mining companies

Access Bank and Mantrac Ghana have formed a strategic financing partnership to provide capital solutions for construction and mining companies across Ghana. The agreement, signed in Accra, brings together Access Bank and four other prominent local banks in a consortium to offer tailored financing options, including working capital and equipment financing.

These solutions are designed to help businesses acquire Caterpillar machinery without the traditional barriers that have hindered growth. Nana Kwabena Afoom, Executive Director of Wholesale Banking at Access Bank Ghana, emphasized that capital is the primary constraint preventing contractors and mining firms from scaling their operations.

He explained that Access Bank's extensive presence in 16 African countries, alongside its operations in the UK and Mauritius, allows the bank to support projects that extend beyond Ghana's borders. The bank favors bespoke financing solutions over standardized packages, catering to the unique needs of each customer. Frank Amegbeji, Group Head of Corporate Banking at Access Bank Ghana, stated that this partnership aligns with Ghana's infrastructure development agenda and the government's investment in major construction projects.

Pierre Lambert Hill, Managing Director of Mantrac Ghana, highlighted that this collaboration aims to make Caterpillar's globally recognized equipment more accessible through innovative financing, benefiting businesses of all sizes. The partnership is part of Access Bank Ghana's broader strategy to support key sectors of the economy through financing that drives industrialization, infrastructure development, and private-sector growth.
