News Corp, the publisher of the Wall Street Journal, reported a significant increase in fourth-quarter revenue, surpassing revenue estimates on August 5. This growth was primarily driven by the company's expansion in digital real estate, book publishing, and Dow Jones subscription businesses. The media conglomerate is leveraging its shift from traditional print media to a more digital-first approach, a strategic move to capitalize on the artificial intelligence boom through licensing deals with technology firms.

News Corp's revenue for the fourth quarter reached US$2.34 billion, exceeding the average analyst forecast of US$2.23 billion, according to data from LSEG. Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) nearly doubled, reaching 35 US cents from 19 US cents a year ago, and significantly beating the estimated 21 US cents. The company's chief executive, Robert Thomson, noted strong relationships with content providers like OpenAI and Meta, and expressed optimism about potential future partnerships with other firms.

Dow Jones, one of News Corp's key assets, saw a 7% revenue increase during the same quarter, while digital real estate services revenue grew by 19%.
