Two women killed in accident on Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway

On Tuesday afternoon, a tragic accident occurred on the Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway near Ramapuram village in Chittoor district, resulting in the deaths of two women and injuries to three others. The deceased, identified as Manasa, 29, and Gowthami, 27, were sisters and the wife and sister of software engineer Anil Kumar, 30. The family was en route to Chennai from Bengaluru when the mishap transpired.

According to police, Anil Kumar reportedly fell asleep while driving through a curve, causing the car to veer off the road and flip three times upon impact. The two women lost their lives instantly due to the force of the collision. Anil Kumar and the two remaining passengers sustained injuries and were subsequently transported to the Government Hospital in Palamaner.

Medical professionals reported that the condition of Anil Kumar and his companions was stable, and they were free from imminent danger. The V. Kota police initiated a case and embarked on a thorough investigation into the incident, as mandated by the law.
