OpenAI has denied these allegations, but the text chain between a current unnamed Apple employee and Lui Chang, one of the former employees, sheds light on the situation.

The Apple employee struggled to find specific information from Chang, expressing frustration at times. Chang, despite the situation, provided guidance and pointed the Apple employee to other experts he believed could help. The exchange also revealed Apple's internal struggles with retaining key personnel, as Chang noted that others with important technical knowledge had also left the team.

While this revelation may not constitute corporate espionage, it does paint a picture of a company that can be susceptible to internal issues, even with its reputation for meticulous attention to detail.
