N Sembilan pertimbang wujud jawatan timbalan exco, kata MB

Negeri Sembilan Chief Minister Ismail Lasim has indicated that the creation of exco deputy positions is a new approach in state government administration, although the number of deputy exco positions has yet to be determined. During a press conference at the State Government Office today, Ismail stated that the entire exco positions will be filled by a mix of Barisan Nasional (BN), PAS, and Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) party representatives.

"We might not be able to accommodate all the representatives in the exco line-up, so we are considering establishing deputy exco positions for some important portfolios," he told journalists at the State Government Office. Ismail added that the proposal is a fresh approach in state government administration, but the number of deputy exco positions to be appointed is still undecided.

He further mentioned that the exco positions are yet to be finalized, despite the potential for their appointment. The appointment of the state exco lineup is expected to be announced by Friday or at the latest, next Monday. Earlier, Ismail, 67, commenced his duties as Chief Minister at the State Government Office this morning, where he was greeted by Deputy Chief Minister Zafir Ibrahim and other department heads.

Ismail, who won the DUN seat of Juasseh in the PRN Negeri Sembilan, took the oath of office in the presence of the Yang Di Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, at the Seri Menanti Palace on Sunday. The PRN Negeri Sembilan, which included 36 DUN seats, consisted of the BN's 18 DUN seats and the Perikatan Nasional (PN) seven seats, allowing both alliances to form a government with a two-thirds majority.
