Israel fans can attend Republic of Ireland fixture

Israel supporters will be present for their match against the Republic of Ireland in the Nations League on September 27. However, away fans are not being accommodated for this game. Both matches between the teams in Group B3 will be held at neutral venues due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Israel is designated as the home team at Nagyerdei Stadion in Debrecen, Hungary, where a limited number of their supporters will be allowed to attend.

The reverse fixture will take place in Serbia on October 4 and will be played entirely behind closed doors. The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has expressed appreciation for the passion of Ireland supporters but has made this decision due to operational challenges and safety concerns. The Irish team's manager, Coleman, emphasized that players will not be prevented from showing their support.

The FAI has faced calls for a boycott of both games, but they have stated that doing so would have a significant impact on Irish football as a whole. Protests have been held outside the Dail, urging a boycott of the games. A friendly match against Qatar at the Aviva Stadium in May was also disrupted by fans throwing tennis balls with the Palestine flag on the pitch. Additionally, a "Stop the Game" campaign has been launched by the group Irish Sport for Palestine.
