Broncos HC Sean Payton Cools Speculation on Taysom Hill Reunion

Sean Payton, the head coach of the Denver Broncos, has quashed speculation surrounding a potential reunion with former tight end Taysom Hill. Payton, who has brought over multiple former Saints to Denver, including Wil Lutz, Adam Trautman, and Michael Burton, initially sparked rumors about Hill when he told NFL Network that the Broncos were considering the idea.

However, Payton has since softened that stance on Monday, stating there is no rush and he plans to revisit the situation after speaking with Hill in five days in Canton. Payton emphasized the importance of Hill's health and mental state, expressing a desire to not assume the tight end's interest in playing. Hill, known for his versatility, has made significant contributions in various roles throughout his NFL career, tallying 2,426 passing yards, 2,551 rushing yards, and 1,034 receiving yards.

However, recent injuries have cast doubt on his football future, with Hill spending last season on the PUP list after tearing his ACL late in 2024. At 36 years old, questions have been raised about Hill's remaining playing days. Despite the Broncos' roster featuring Evan Engram, Trautman, and rookie Justin Joly, adding a player like Hill could prove intriguing; yet, his age and recent injury history make his availability and performance uncertain.
