At least 12 hurt due to unusual turbulence on Air India flight from Thailand to Delhi

On Tuesday, at least 12 individuals were injured aboard an Air India flight as they traversed from Phuket, Thailand, to New Delhi, India. The incident, which was attributed to unusual turbulence, caused a brief alteration in the aircraft's altitude, resulting in a drop of around 300 feet (91 meters). The injured comprised 10 passengers and two crew members, according to Air India.

The Airbus A320, which accommodated 134 passengers, continued its journey and touched down at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, shortly after 11 a.m. local time. Medical assistance was promptly provided for the affected individuals, who were transferred to the airport's medical center for further examination and treatment.

An Air India spokesperson affirmed that no serious injuries were reported. They stated, "At present, there have been no serious injuries. A small number of passengers and crew members with minor injuries requiring medical assessment have been taken to a medical facility at the airport for precautionary examination and care by Air India’s airport team and medical personnel."

The airline emphasized the paramount importance of passenger and crew safety, affirming their dedication to providing all necessary support to those impacted and actively cooperating with the relevant authorities in the ongoing investigation.
