Four men are guarding the entrance to a street in Ceuta's barriada of Los Rosales, where they have placed a yellow construction tape barrier to close the passage. They set up this particular border on Thursday, the same day over 60,000 migrants entered the city from Morocco, fearful of the immigrants entering their homes. Given the ratio of arrivals to the city's population of 83,000, there was concern they would not be far behind, as happened before.

On Saturday at noon, when the vast majority of those who had entered the city en masse via the El Tarajal border tunnel had returned to Morocco on their own feet, coached by the Army, their security belt remained in place. Migrants barely saw the city center, but several groups of young people - "several thousand", according to the city government - were still wandering through residential neighborhoods, sleeping in the shadows or attempting to buy water, tobacco, or something to eat.

One Los Rosales resident had placed a chair and sat there ironically, remarking that they were "luxury" sitting there in the shade watching. Concerned they might be filmed, they pointed out the various points where more barriers were set up.
