Telangana mulling over special mechanism for NRI grievances: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka informed the 19th American Telugu Association (ATA) National Convention in Maryland that the Telangana government is contemplating establishing a specialized mechanism to address grievances of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and their families residing in the state. The proposed platform aims to expedite the resolution of issues faced by NRIs abroad as well as concerns impacting their relatives in Telangana.

He encouraged Telangana natives living overseas to register as voters via the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, emphasizing that eligible citizens worldwide can register online. Vikramarka urged NRIs to contribute their knowledge, expertise, and investments to the state's development, as Telangana aspires to become a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

The deputy chief minister highlighted ongoing efforts to rejuvenate and beautify the 56-km Musi river, drawing inspiration from the River Thames in London, to ensure clean water flow and enhance Hyderabad's urban landscape. He underscored the significance of human resource development, revealing the government's intention to introduce major reforms in the education sector to provide students from modest backgrounds access to education of global standards.

Vikramarka invited NRIs to collaborate in initiatives aimed at the development of their native places and the state.
