Naidu directs officials to prevent drinking water shortage

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu instructed officials on Monday to prevent any part of the State from experiencing a drinking water shortage. He directed them to closely monitor rainfall patterns and reservoir levels for timely intervention. During a review meeting at the Real-Time Governance Society, Naidu emphasized the importance of continuous water availability monitoring and the implementation of necessary contingency measures.

Officials informed him that anticipated improved rainfall in upper catchment areas would enhance water availability in Krishna and Godavari river basins. They also provided an update on the flood situation in Godavari and its potential impact on reservoir inflows. The Chief Minister directed officials to optimally utilize water flowing into the Krishna basin from upstream regions.

Additionally, he instructed departments to ensure a sufficient supply of fodder and maintain reserves for livestock throughout the year. In another review, the Transport Department's functioning was evaluated, and officials outlined measures to expand technology use and remove unnecessary regulations to reduce corruption and improve service delivery.

Naidu directed officials to simplify procedures and eliminate avoidable conditions to make the department more citizen-friendly. Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad and senior officials attended the meeting.
