PGA Tour enters final week of the regular season at Wyndham Championship

As the PGA Tour enters the final week of the regular season at the Wyndham Championship, intrigue continues to brew among the lower-ranked players. Despite the top 10 spots remaining unchanged following the Rocket Classic, Scottie Scheffler maintains his No. 1 position in the FedEx Cup points standings.

Most of the action unfolded at the Rocket Classic, with Michael Thorbjornsen emerging as the biggest mover, climbing 31 spots to claim the 38th position after securing his first Tour victory. Davis Riley also experienced a significant jump, rising 38 spots to the 108th place. Rasmus Hojgaard, Matt Wallace, and Chris Kirk rounded out the top five movers, each gaining 22, 18, and 15 spots, respectively.

Looking ahead to the FedEx Cup Playoffs, which kick off on August 13 at the TPC Southwind in Memphis, the top 70 players on the points list will advance. Jackson Koivun finds himself on the bubble, currently at the 70th position after tying for 31st place in the Rocket Classic. To make the playoffs, Koivun would need to finish third or better in Greensboro, giving him a chance to leapfrog to the 105th position and effectively catch Michael Brennan.

Currently, there's a gap of fewer than 200 points between No. 60 Shane Lowry and No. 75 Jason Day, a gap that could potentially be closed with a strong performance at the Wyndham Championship.
