No security for Israel without just solution to Palestinian issue: Egypt FM

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty emphasized that the Palestinian issue is central to regional conflicts and that without a just resolution, Israel and other nations cannot achieve security or stability. Speaking at the Conference of Egyptians Abroad, Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's current focus on implementing US President Donald Trump’s plan for the Gaza Strip, particularly its second phase.

He expressed optimism about Israel's response to the Palestinian agreement on the second phase, which involves the collection and inventory of weapons, a full Israeli withdrawal, and the unhindered entry of humanitarian and medical aid. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's stance against any annexation plans of the West Bank or displacement of Palestinians from their lands.

He strongly condemned Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories, particularly in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and its attempts to divide the territories and hinder the creation of a Palestinian state. Egypt is set to host a meeting of mediators in Gaza negotiations, including Egypt, the US, Qatar, and Turkey, to underscore the commitment to implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.

This meeting follows Hamas and other Palestinian factions' agreement to the roadmap for implementing the second phase. The meeting aims to solidify all parties' dedication to adhering to the terms of the agreement signed in Sharm el-Sheikh in October.
