LIV Golf’s $30M New York, Indy Events Move Ahead Despite Finale Questions

LIV Golf is proceeding with its $30 million New York and Indianapolis events this week, despite the uncertainty surrounding its 2026 season finale, the $40 million team championship in Indiana. The New York event is set to begin on Thursday, and the Indianapolis tournament is scheduled for August 20-23 at The Club at Chatham Hills.

Sources suggest LIV Golf Michigan may be canceled, but there has been no formal announcement. Despite the potential cancellation of the team championship, LIV Golf is still slated to pay out over $60 million at the New York and Indianapolis events, offering players a $30 million purse each and $10 million to the tour-man teams. The league is still seeking up to $350 million in new investments as Saudi PIF funding ends.

LIV Golf has received commitments from several blue-chip investment firms to support the league going forward. While U.S. President Donald Trump attended a LIV event at Trump Doral in April, it is unclear if he will attend the New York event. Players Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau have been more subdued in their comments about LIV's future, with DeChambeau offering his time and ideas to secure new investors.
