Kempen fitnah during the PRN of Negeri Sembilan has been cited as a key factor in the recent loss of Loke Siew Fook, the DAP Deputy President, in the Chennah constituency, according to the party's highest leadership meeting in Kuala Lumpur. The former Chennah MP, who contested the seat for three consecutive terms, stated that the campaign was the toughest in his 22-year electoral history, featuring personal attacks, baseless allegations, and accusations that he wanted to usurp Malay political power and control the state government.

During the DAP's media briefing following the meeting, Loke alleged that the negative sentiment among Malay voters and constituents was directly caused by the fitnah campaign. While personally questioned by Malay voters about becoming a Chief Minister, Loke showed no regret over the loss, emphasizing that as a party leader, he must be bold in facing challenges and contesting in tough seats.

The DAP leader noted that they still secured 47% of the votes, including between 20% to 25% support from Malay voters, and lost by only a few hundred votes, respecting the democratic process. Loke resigned as the DAP's Negeri Sembilan chairman, a role he held for 22 years, attributing the loss in the Chennah and Repah elections to the fitnah campaign.
