As a result, residents in Teshie and Nungua now receive water only twice a week. Additionally, leakages in transmission pipelines from Kpone to Tema have exacerbated the problem, with only 40 to 60 percent of the water reaching intended consumers.
Some farmers have also been found to have illegally punctured the pipelines for irrigation, further reducing water supply to residents.
