Google’s next XL Pixel may get lighter and pricier, with less RAM to start

Google is set to unveil its highly anticipated Pixel 11 lineup on August 12, with a leak revealing details about the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL model. The device will maintain the same 6.8-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED display as its predecessor, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, but with a brighter 3,600 nits peak brightness. Under the hood, the Pixel 11 Pro XL will be powered by Google's Tensor G6 chip and run Android 17.

However, it will feature a downgrade in RAM from 16GB to 12GB for the base storage tier, while storage capacities remain at 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The camera setup will remain unchanged, with a triple-camera array consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultrawide, and a 48MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The front-facing camera will also stay at 42MP.

Battery capacity will see a slight decrease, dropping from 5,200mAh to 5,115mAh, while weight will decrease from 232g to 226g. The device will offer wired charging at 45W, though wireless charging speed remains undisclosed. The leak suggests Google is testing a new look for the voice search interface on the Google home screen widget and that the redesigned layout will make accessing Google's AI search tools more accessible.

Pricing for the Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to be $1,299 in the US, a $100 increase from the Pixel 10 Pro XL's $1,199 launch price.
