Youth Photographic Society showcases winners of 2026 international competition

The Youth Photographic Society (YPS) in Bengaluru recently showcased the winners of the 2026 International Salon photographic awards in an exhibition at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath (KCP). Established in 1971, YPS is a prominent not-for-profit organization with more than 700 members, making it one of the largest photography clubs in India.

The YPS International Salon has been held annually since its inception, attracting both Indian and foreign participants who are drawn to the club's reputation for professionalism, open judging, and high-quality catalogues.

KCP, a popular cultural hub in Bengaluru, is best known for its annual Chitra Santhe, a massive street fair dedicated to art. YPS was founded under the patronage of the former Department of Youth Services & Sports, Government of Mysore, with Vanaja Rao serving as its first president. Over the years, the society has hosted a range of expert and emerging photographers, showcasing their talents through various exhibitions and competitions.

In recent years, YPS has undergone a digital transformation to modernize its services. The annual awards report, detailing the award categories, jury, and winners, is now available for download on the society's website. Since its establishment, YPS has organized over 40 national and 15 international Salon competitions, attracting participants from across the globe due to its professionalism, open judging process, carefully planned print exhibitions, and high-quality catalogs.
