One-year-old girl run over by car in Madivala; driver booked

A tragic incident unfolded in Madivala on Saturday, leaving a one-year-old infant deceased after she was struck by a car in a parking area adjacent to an apartment complex. The victim's father, Prakash Pandey, resided in the same building with his wife and another daughter, aged six. Pandey, employed as a security guard, was performing maintenance duties when he noticed his youngest child missing from a designated spot near the building entrance.

Upon investigation, he discovered her lifeless body beneath the wheels of a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Rahil Javed, the son of the apartment complex's owner. The child had become unconscious following the accident. The family promptly transported the infant to a hospital, subsequently transferring her to St. John’s Medical College Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced her death.

In response to Pandey's claim, Madivala police initiated legal proceedings against Javed, formally charging him with causing death through negligence. The police subsequently served a notice to the accused for further questioning.
