Oliver Bearman admits Lewis Hamilton resurgence complicates Ferrari F1 dream

Oliver Bearman has acknowledged the challenge posed by Lewis Hamilton's resurgence at Ferrari to his aspirations of joining the Maranello team. After a standout debut at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where Bearman filled in for Carlos Sainz, he was offered a full-time contract from Haas for the 2025 season. His impressive rookie year, which included a fourth-place finish at the Mexican Grand Prix, made him a strong contender for a future Ferrari seat.

However, Hamilton's return to form in 2026, clinching his first Grand Prix victory with Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya race, has complicated Bearman's prospects. The seven-time champion is now second in the drivers' championship. In an interview on the F1 Beyond The Grid podcast, Bearman expressed his admiration for Hamilton's performance, noting the significance of seeing three Brits on the podium at Barcelona.

Despite the setback, Bearman remains committed to Haas, emphasizing his desire to continue learning and achieving at the team. He maintains that securing a seat at Ferrari remains his ultimate goal, but acknowledges the need to act promptly to avoid missing out on prime championship opportunities.
