Mullins vows to build aggressive County side

Newport County's manager Hayden Mullins has made it clear his approach will prioritize substance over style in League Two. The Austrian was appointed following the recent departure of Christian Fuchs, who led the club to a last-place finish in the previous season. Mullins, a former midfielder, is well aware of the challenges ahead, stating he won't be attempting to dominate with an all-conquering, possession-based style.

Instead, he aims to create a competitive, exciting, and expansive team that can inspire the fans. At a recent press conference, Mullins praised his new assistant coach Chris Todd for his extensive knowledge of the team and praised Todd's leadership in preparing the squad for the upcoming Yeovil match. The Exiles will face their glamour friendly against Italian giants Roma at Rodney Parade on August 4th, followed by their first competitive match in the Carabao Cup against AFC Wimbledon on August 8th, and their home League Two opener against Rochdale a week later.
