Lee says S. Korean firms, people in Germany play key role as bridge

On August 2, President Lee Jae Myung highlighted the pivotal role played by South Korean firms and individuals in Germany, particularly in Frankfurt and the Hesse region, as a vital link between the two nations. This assertion came during a brief stop in Frankfurt, following Lee's return from visits to San Francisco and three South American countries.

"Today, many of our companies are operating across Frankfurt and Hesse," Lee stated. He further emphasized the growing competitiveness of South Korean companies across diverse sectors, including automobiles, electronics, finance, logistics, and advanced technologies, in Europe. The president underscored the Korean community as a cornerstone of South Korea's increasing competitiveness, suggesting that their strong local trust could further enhance the country's standing in the region.

Germany has demonstrated burgeoning interest in South Korean culture, business, and technology, with the Korean community acting as a crucial bridge between the two countries. As the final leg of Lee's five-nation tour, the meeting in Frankfurt preceded his scheduled departure for South Korea.
