Johnson denies Harrington in star-studded Portugal event

Zach Johnson, a competitor from the United States, triumphed in the inaugural Portugal Invitational golf event held at The Els Club in Vilamoura. The tournament, featuring a line-up of celebrity golfers, witnessed Johnson edge out fellow American Stewart Cink and Irish star Padraig Harrington by a two-stroke margin. Johnson's victory came after a final round of seven-under-par, which saw him close with a birdie.

Despite a modest wedge shot on the 11th hole, Johnson still managed to secure a lead, holing a crucial putt from off the green. Johnson expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating that a critical putt on the seventh hole was pivotal. Irish golfer Padraig Harrington and American Stewart Cink, the leading Champions Tour players, finished two strokes behind Johnson.

English golfer Colin Montgomerie also made a notable comeback, finishing tied for 46th after making a strong return with a four-under 68 in the final round.
