Israel, US military learnt Trump cancelled Iran strike through social media: Report

Israeli officials and US Central Command only discovered that US President Donald Trump had canceled a major attack on Iran after learning about it through Trump's post on Truth Social, according to an Israeli media report. Centcom was also not given advance notice of the decision. Trump announced the cancellation of the attack on Saturday, stating he had done so after receiving assurances from Tehran and other Middle Eastern countries.

He emphasized that Israel was also on board with the decision, although Jerusalem did not issue a public statement immediately. The US was "locked and loaded" and ready for military action against Iran at levels not seen since World War II. Despite the cancellation, Trump suggested the attack could have been beneficial for the world and Iran's survival if a deal could be reached.

However, Iranian military officials dismissed Trump's claim, calling it a "lie" and accusing the US of attempting to coerce Gulf leaders. Iran's forces were said to be at the highest state of readiness, warning that any conflict would be decisive. The Iranian foreign minister warned the US against any "adventurous action," pledging that Tehran would retaliate decisively if American forces followed through on Trump's threats.
