CPI(M) leaders criticise Kerala CM over attending events during rain disaster

Thiruvananthapuram, CPI Rajya Sabha MP A A Rahim and former MLA V K Prasanth have criticised Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan for attending an event in Malappuram during a severe rain disaster. Rahim expressed his disbelief over the chief minister's presence at a Youth League leader's residence, while Prasanth compared Satheesan's actions to those of the former chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Both leaders alleged that Satheesan's presence at the event was inappropriate and ill-timed, as thousands of people were suffering due to the disaster. Rahim emphasized that the chief minister's primary responsibility during such a crisis is to instil confidence among people and coordinate relief operations efficiently. He urged Satheesan to cancel all other engagements and focus on disaster relief operations. Neither Satheesan nor UDF leaders have responded to the allegations.
