Brovdi warns more strikes on Wildberries facilities will follow

Ukrainian military commander Robert "Madyar" Brovdi warned that additional strikes on Wildberries facilities are imminent following a successful attack on the company's logistics center in Novosemeykino, Samara Oblast, Russia. Brovdi stated in a post on Sunday, Aug. 2, that residents of the Urals and Siberia should no longer expect timely delivery of their "purple parcels," as the Novosemeykino hub has become inoperable.

He emphasized that this was the tenth successful strike, including a previous target in Simferopol and several smaller attacks. Brovdi urged Russians to consider the implications of their actions, suggesting they might repaint a berry yellow and blue and write "CHECKOUT" on its roof. The 178,600-square-meter logistics center, one of Wildberries' key hubs in Russia's Volga region, was targeted in the attack.

Wildberries confirmed the incident with no reported injuries. The company, which processes around 4.5 million orders per day and accounts for 45% of all online sales in Russia, operates 200 logistics facilities covering 5.2 million square meters in total. Ukraine's attacks against Wildberries logistics facilities across Russia have destroyed 550,000 square meters, or 10%, of the company's warehouse capacity during the first week of strikes.

The financial losses for Wildberries and its merchants are estimated between $770 million and $1.2 billion. Ukraine's Defense Forces conducted 18 attacks on Wildberries logistics facilities in Russia over two weeks, targeting a combined area of over 1 million square meters, which constitutes about 40% of the company's largest warehouses.
