Raj Muppala, the creator of Applaa AI, an Agentic AI learning platform, has earned a Proof of Usefulness score of 48.27 at the Proof of Usefulness Hackathon. Applaa AI is designed to provide personalized education for major exams such as SATs, UK GCSEs, and A-Levels, with the goal of reducing tutoring costs and improving student outcomes. The platform combines adaptive AI tutors, real-world app creation, and personalized learning paths.

The surge in demand for affordable, accessible exam preparation and the skyrocketing costs of private tutoring have created a significant need for AI-driven educational alternatives. Applaa AI currently serves over 500 active students monthly, with plans to expand to more than 5,000 active students by September. The platform is targeted towards students aged 14-18 preparing for various exams, as well as parents seeking a cost-effective alternative to private tutoring.

Schools, tutoring centers, and teaching institutions also utilize Applaa to deliver personalized AI-powered learning at scale.

To build Applaa AI, Muppala employed Algolia alongside a custom-built local Agentic AI framework, ensuring the application can function offline for secure and uninterrupted access to personalized AI tutors.
