Hungry For Change: Health-e News reports on South Africa’s hunger crisis in an 8-part series

South Africa is grappling with a hunger crisis, as revealed by submissions to the South African Human Rights Commission's inquiry into the country's food system. The first phase of the inquiry, held in March, focused on civil society organizations and government institutions, while the second phase in July examined the private sector, including farmers, food manufacturers, and retailers.

The HSRC reported that more than a thousand children died due to preventable acute malnutrition last year, and an estimated 14 million people are going hungry. Health-e News is set to publish an eight-part series titled "Hungry For Change," which will delve into the lives of people affected by this crisis, highlighting the challenges families face when food is scarce.
