Trump offers UFC chief Dana White White House press secretary job

US President Donald Trump has proposed appointing UFC chief Dana White as the White House press secretary following his party's defeat in the recent midterm elections and the Democrats' subsequent takeover of both chambers of Congress. White, a loyal supporter of Trump, heads the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), a prominent mixed martial arts organization.

In a social media post, Trump described White as a "violent Fighter and Warrior" and invited him to take the job. White, 57, is the president and CEO of the UFC, and he has expressed his intention to fly to Washington to meet with Trump as soon as possible. Trump has also ordered the Justice Department to investigate Democrats for alleged "extortion at the highest level," claiming they are threatening people and officials.

Trump has downplayed any wrongdoing on his own administration's part and vowed to bring criminal charges against those he accuses. The offers come as Democrats prepare to take control of the Senate and House of Representatives, potentially leading to intensified investigations into the Trump administration.
