Sudah 7 tahun berlalu, mana bekalan elektrik kami, Ahli Parlimen soal Putrajaya
Ahli Parlimen Sipitang berkata, projek bekalan elektrik di kawasannya dilaporkan terbengkalai sejak 2019, ribuan penduduk tiada akses sempurna.
Seven years have passed since Sabah MP Matbali Musah raised concerns about the lack of reliable electricity supply in his constituency. Despite repeatedly highlighting the issue, the response from authorities has been unhelpful and lacking in concrete action. (Image from Facebook)
The MP has called for an investigation into the long-standing failure of off-grid electricity projects in his area, which have reportedly been stagnant since 2019, leaving thousands of residents without adequate electricity. The hybrid solar system has been operational for nine times but has left residents in seven villages dependent on solar lamps and limited power supply.
"I urge the ministry to conduct an inquiry," Matbali stated, "Even though this issue of lack of electricity has been raised repeatedly over the years, the responses given verbally and in writing have not led to any concrete and decisive actions."
Matbali also urged the ministry to pay immediate attention to the persistent issue of infrastructure shortage in his constituency. The lack of electricity has affected 2,073 people residing in 287 households across six villages. Additionally, several off-grid water projects in Sipitang remain unexecuted, impacting 7,319 residents from 1,219 households in 21 villages who have been deprived of clean water access for years.
"We want the ministry to clarify the current status of the water supply project, the provided funds, the obstacles hindering its implementation, and when residents can enjoy clean drinking water," Matbali said. The FMT is seeking clarification from the KKDW regarding these matters.
