Shark PowerDetect Transformer review: a strong, versatile vac that switches from upright to stick
Not only can the Shark PowerDetect Transformer switch between upright and stick vacuums but it offers seriously powerful suction for every situation — without you needing to press a single button.
The Shark PowerDetect Transformer is a versatile vacuum cleaner that combines an upright, stick and handheld vacuum in one machine. It boasts premium features such as tangle-free brush bar and dirt-illuminating LED, as well as smart features like automatic dirt, surface and edge detection. Weighing 17.6 lbs / 8kg, the vacuum is not the easiest to maneuver in its upright form, but can be quickly converted into a svelte stick vacuum or handy handheld vac with a single button press.
The PowerDetect Transformer also offers a range of accessories for different tasks, including the HairPro Self-Cleaning Pet Power brush for getting pet hair off rugs and furniture. It also features built-in HEPA certified filtration and an anti-allergen seal. The vacuum's auto-detection features adjust suction based on floor type, dirt detected, and direction, while its edge detection helps to clean room boundaries more effectively.
The vacuum also excels at removing coarse dirt from hard floors and dust from shallow pile carpets. Despite being loud at 74dB during upright use and 82dB during self-cleaning cycle, it is still considered an impressive vacuum cleaner due to its power, smart design, ease of use, and flexibility to clean various areas of the home.
The vacuum is available for $529.99 / £499.99 / AU$699.99 and comes in Chimera Blue and Deep Sage Green colorways.
