NSCDC breaks criminal network in Ebonyi, Benue border, recovers AK-47, pump action gun

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ebonyi State Command has successfully dismantled a criminal network operating along the Ebonyi-Benue border in the Izzi Local Government Area. According to a statement from the State Commandant, CC Francis Chika Nnadi, the operation was the result of intelligence gathered about the criminal activities in the area.

The Intelligence and Investigation Department, working alongside the Commandant's Special Squad, conducted a series of coordinated raids across the locality. These efforts led to the recovery of a significant cache of weapons and criminal paraphernalia. Specifically, they seized an AK-47 rifle, a double magazine, four rounds of live ammunition, five knives, assorted charms related to criminal activities, a locally-made pistol, and a pump-action gun.

In response to this operation, Nnadi has issued a stern warning to any criminal elements that may plan to destabilize the peace in Ebonyi State. The Commandant emphasized the readiness of the NSCDC, in partnership with other security agencies, to eradicate criminal elements and ensure the residents of the state can live without fear. He also reiterated the NSCDC's commitment to providing comprehensive security before, during, and after the upcoming elections.

Furthermore, Nnadi urged the public to remain vigilant and to continue supporting the security agencies by providing timely and reliable information. This information is crucial for identifying and apprehending any remaining criminal elements in the region.
