Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr delivered a stellar performance in the team's 31-24 victory over No. 1 Miami Hurricanes, effectively blowing away expectations. During the game, Carr completed 29 of 40 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns. His outstanding playmaking abilities were met with praise from sports analysts such as Richard Johnson and Beanie Wells on CBS Sports.
With this impressive win, the Fighting Irish have strengthened their chances of securing a spot in the College Football Playoff (CFP). The victory also came at a crucial time, as Miami missed out on the services of Heisman candidate Malachi Toney. In the first half, Notre Dame took an early 17-3 lead, leaving Miami with little chance of a comeback.
Key contributors to Notre Dame's success included Nolan James Jr., who raked in 16 carries for 52 yards and a touchdown; Micah Gilbert, who had nine catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns; Jordan Faison, who added six receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown; and Mylan Graham, who caught three passes for 32 yards. The Fighting Irish will host Boston College in Week 11, with kickoff scheduled for November 14 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
