Nigeria Democratic Congress governorship candidate Funso Doherty has criticized the lack of political will in addressing the issues surrounding agberos in Lagos State. Agberos are transport operators who collect money from commercial bus drivers and transport operators, often claiming to act on behalf of transport unions or park authorities.
Doherty argues that vested interests within the existing public transportation system have hindered attempts to modernize and reform the sector, despite the chaotic operation of commercial buses.
