Keerthy Suresh opens up about interfaith marriage with Antony Thattil: Took a while to convince my family’

Keerthy Suresh, the talented actress, recently shared her experience of marrying Antony Thattil, her husband who is Christian, in an interview with Curly Tales. The couple had been together for 15 years before exchanging their vows in 2024. Keerthy revealed that she began dating Antony shortly after completing her 12th grade and confessed that her mother initially disapproved of their relationship, having discovered their diary during college. The actress admitted that the ordeal was difficult, adding that she has since lost the diary.

The interfaith marriage presented challenges for Keerthy and Antony, as the actor had to convince her family to accept their union. Despite these obstacles, they persevered and eventually tied the knot. Sonal Khangarot, a licensed rehabilitation counsellor and psychotherapist, commented on the pressures faced by individuals in interfaith relationships.

She emphasized the importance of adapting to diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, as well as the role of companionship, shared interests, and mutual respect in maintaining a long-lasting marriage.
