Washington, DC - May 6, 2026: Fans, Ilia Topuria, and the UFC all clamored for a rematch between Justin Gaethje and Ilia Topuria following their brutal bout on the White House lawn in June. However, Gaethje's manager, Ali Abdelaziz, has firmly ruled out the possibility, stating, "This rematch will never happen, and I agree with him."
Abdelaziz cited Topuria's recent emotional interview, in which he expressed gratitude to his brother for saving his life following the fourth-round stoppage. He further noted the difficulty fighters face in returning from such traumatic experiences. Abdelaziz admitted to seeing similar situations with other fighters, emphasizing that Justin Gaethje has done the same to many others.
This fight, while dominant, would represent no improvement for Gaethje and he is focused on wrapping up his career on his own terms. Therefore, Gaethje may opt for other high-profile fights, such as a bout against Tsarukyan or Volkanovski instead.
