Upon learning of the news, Odukoya joyfully called Mo to the altar at the church in Ilupeju, Lagos, where she was introduced as Pastor Mo Odukoya, the new first lady of the church. The congregation responded with joyous applause. The wedding itself took place in the United States, and the introduction in Lagos followed the ceremony.

The announcement drew significant attention due to Odukoya's prominent position within the Christian community. His first union was to Oluwakemi Folashade Banjoko, commonly known as Kemi Odukoya, which took place in March 2013 in England. The couple has two children together, but they are now separated.
