Jalgaon: State Approves Land Exchange To Facilitate Jamner Sports Complex, Railway Projects

The State Government in Jalgaon has removed a significant barrier to the development of the Jamner Taluka Sports Complex and key railway projects, according to Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The government has given preliminary approval for the transfer of 6.64 hectares of land from Central Railway's Bhusawal Division in Jamner to the Maharashtra Government.

In return, the Railways will receive 17.28 hectares of equivalent government land for its projects. This move comes after persistent efforts by Revenue Minister Bawankule.

Under the approved plan, nine hectares of the 13.30-hectare plot with Gat No. 991 in Jamner will be allocated to the Jamner Municipal Council for their municipal projects, while the remaining 4.30 hectares will be designated for the Taluka Sports Complex. As there's no direct legal provision for land exchange, the process will follow the prescribed legal procedures.

In the initial phase, the Central Railway's Bhusawal Division will transfer 6.64 hectares of land to the Maharashtra Government free of cost. In return, the State Government will provide 17.28 hectares of land for the Railways' major projects. This includes 12.93 hectares across 10 villages in Dhule district for the Manmad-Indore New Railway Line project, covering the route from Manmad to Dhule, Nardana, and Dr Ambedkar Nagar.

Additionally, 4.35 hectares across eight villages in Jalgaon district will be allocated for converting the Jamner-Pachora narrow-gauge railway line into a broad-gauge line and extending it to Bodwad.

The District Collectors of Dhule and Jalgaon will handle the necessary revenue and administrative procedures. Bawankule emphasized that this sports complex, along with the Municipal Council's development projects and railway projects in the region, will spur development. He stated that the decision, under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, demonstrates a people-centric and dynamic administration.
