Gasperini: “Quality-wise we’re competitive, but numerically our squad is not among the largest.”
Gian Piero Gasperini spoke to DAZN after Roma-Sassuolo.“I’m very satisfied. Clearly it’s three points and when you win it’s always very nice, but there’s also a way to win and tonight we did...
Gasperini expressed satisfaction with Roma's win against Sassuolo, praising the team's performance. He acknowledged the challenge of fielding a smaller squad compared to others, stating, "Quality-wise we’re competitive, but numerically our squad is not among the largest." Gasperini also mentioned the difficulty of playing nine games in 27 days, noting that the team had to face tough matches in the league against Napoli and Manchester.
Despite the impact of injuries, with players like Svilar, Cristante, Koné, and Pellegrini missing games, Gasperini emphasized the team's balanced playing time and the morale boost that comes from participating in national team matches, even if they are friendlies.
