According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesman for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, the first accident transpired around 4:10 p.m. near Kam Steel on the Sagamu-Ikorodu route. A pickup van had left the Kam Steel access road and collided with a tricycle, causing it to overturn. Eight individuals were affected, with one woman succumbing to her injuries immediately and two others sustaining injuries.

The victims were transported to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu for medical treatment, while the deceased was brought to the hospital morgue.

The second mishap occurred earlier, at approximately 3:25 p.m., at Agarawu, Winners area, along the Ota-Idiroko Road. This accident involved a yellow Howo truck and a TVS tricycle, both of which collided due to brake failure. The truck driver lost control, resulting in a crash.
