25-year-old stabbed to death in Bengal flat, live-in partner, her mother arrested: Cop

In the Kothrud area of Pune, a 27-year-old man named Prakash Yewale, also known as Lalya, was fatally stabbed in the Sutardara locality on the eve of Diwali. The attack, believed to be a result of an old feud, occurred around 9:30pm when Yewale was reportedly intercepted and assaulted by a group of three to four assailants using sharp weapons.

The incident took place while Yewale was in the area, and he was subsequently stabbed in the neck, suffering severe injuries before collapsing and later succumbing to his injuries at a private hospital in Shivajinagar.

Within hours of the murder, the Kothrud police registered a murder case and arrested two suspects, identified as Vicky More and Aniket Malpote. The police suspect that the attack may be linked to an old rivalry and a recent dispute between Yewale and some youths associated with a local mandal. The motive behind the attack is yet to be established, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause and to ascertain if there are any additional suspects involved.

Preliminary police information suggests that Yewale had a criminal record, having been previously booked for theft, burglary, and other offenses.
