He was taken to hospital with burns affecting around 30 per cent of his body.
On November 4, a worker at a chemical factory in Changhua County, Taiwan, was rescued from the roof of the burning building more than two hours after the fire started. The four-story factory operated by Gatherfu Industrial was located in Changbin Industrial Park. The worker, whose surname is Fan, sought refuge on a balcony when the fire began and waited near a pillar for rescuers.
Firefighters arrived at approximately 6:03pm to discover a fire near the factory's boiler. Four or five explosions occurred during the incident. Fan was trapped near a control room on the fourth floor. Firefighters used an aerial ladder truck to rescue him at 8:21pm. The worker was conscious during the rescue and was taken to Changhua Christian Hospital for treatment.
He sustained burns to his face and limbs, affecting about 30% of his body, as well as smoke inhalation injuries. The fire was extinguished at around 8:32pm after deploying 25 fire vehicles, two ambulances, two rescue robots, a drone, and 61 firefighters to the scene. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
