Why Henry, Iwobi are my favourite players – Filmmaker Nkanga

Emily Nkanga, a photographer, filmmaker, and producer, shares her journey into filmmaking and photography in an interview with Peter Akinbo. Initially, she intended to study psychology but shifted to mass communication after discovering a more practical approach to media arts. Encouraged by a photographer mentor, Emily began taking photography seriously, which eventually led her to a major sports-related project with Thierry Henry.

Nkanga is proud of her Arsenal loyalty and praises Thierry Henry as her favorite player, crediting their personal interactions for elevating him to the top of her list. As for Nigerian football, she follows both the men's and women's teams closely, with Alex Iwobi being her favorite Nigerian player and Asisat Oshoala as her favorite on the women's side.

Nkanga also maintains her own football career, playing as a goalkeeper for her local community team, AFC Muswell Hill, where she participates in sports-related activities and builds community connections.
