Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) recently raised its urea prices by Rs. 54 per bag for all Sona Urea variants, following a Rs. 50 per bag increase by Engro Fertilizers the previous day, according to market research. The maximum retail price for Sona Urea Prilled is now Rs. 4,579 per bag and Rs. 4,803 per bag for Sona Urea Granular.
Engro had increased its urea price by Rs. 50 per bag on November 6, bringing its dealer transfer price to Rs. 4,585 per bag, following an earlier Rs. 150 per bag hike in March 2026. The company has kept its pricing strategy consistent throughout the year.
Urea prices are rising due to expanding demand in Pakistan's market. FFC's third quarter corporate briefing revealed that industry urea sales grew by approximately 5 percent to 4.403 million tons from January to September 2026, up from 4.205 million tons in the same period last year. FFC's sales increased by 10 percent to 2.160 million tons, boosting its market share to 49 percent from 47 percent. The company also reported a total industry urea inventory of 649,000 tons as of September 2026, with 88,000 tons held by FFC.
Despite improved farm returns across major crops in 2025 to 2026, they remained below 2022 to 2023 levels.
