'Under Kolkata Police watch': Abhishek Banerjee alleges midnight BJP attack on home

Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee, representing Diamond Harbour in the Lok Sabha, has accused BJP supporters of launching an attack on his residence during the early hours of Saturday. He released footage via X (formerly Twitter) depicting the incident, stating that the assailants were BJP hooligans. Banerjee claimed it was the seventh attempted assassination of his life in the past six months, despite no police or judicial action being taken.

The MP further alleged that the West Bengal Police had been monitoring his office and residence, and questioned the authorization behind these surveillance activities. He called for an immediate investigation to uncover the truth behind the alleged conspiracy. The Bengal BJP countered these claims, dismissing them as a reaction to Banerjee's birthday celebrations and questioning the MP's perceived need for security.
