UAE's largest university graduates more than 6,700 as HCT plans expansion

The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) has recorded a record-breaking graduation year, with over 6,700 students receiving their diplomas at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. This milestone marks the largest university graduation ceremony in UAE history, up 43 percent compared to the previous year, signaling a surge in Emirati talent entering the workforce.

HCT CEO Khalid Alhammadi announced plans to expand professional training academies within the organization, aiming to increase from the current four to ten specialising in various fields such as National Initiatives, Language and Communication, AI and Emerging Technology, and Assessment Centre. The expansion strategy aims to deliver tailored programmes for organisations, empowering their workforces with relevant skills and boosting UAE's competitiveness in the education sector.

Since its establishment, Cert has trained more than 105,000 Emiratis, and In^X Education plans to extend its reach across the region. The university's commitment to knowledge transformation and export is evident in its mission to transfer expertise to neighbouring countries.

Eighteen graduates were honoured with cars for their academic excellence, including Haamed Marwan Al Ajmani, who excelled with a perfect 4.0 GPA in computer information science (security and forensics) at HCT's Dubai campus. Addressing the graduates, Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, HCT Chancellor, and chairman of Capital H, emphasised the importance of lifelong learning and the integration of AI in the workforce.

He stressed that understanding AI is crucial for organisations, as it becomes an increasingly common tool in various industries.
