British Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has stated that former US President Donald Trump deserved to lose the midterm elections. She criticized his handling of the Iran war, trade policies, treatment of allies, and personal attacks on journalists and political figures. Badenoch described Trump's electoral setback as "entirely self-inflicted" and said his "dirty" style of politics contradicted conservative principles.
She particularly criticized Trump's tariffs, threats towards Canada and Greenland, disputes with US allies, and his remarks about British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Badenoch also expressed disappointment with Trump's lack of clear strategy in the Iran war and his failure to capitalize on the broad coalition of voters that helped him win the presidency.
