President Bola Tinubu has commended Nyesom Wike for his contributions to infrastructure development and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for embracing peace and reconciliation efforts. At the Rainbow Coalition presidential campaign rally in Port Harcourt, Tinubu praised Fubara's maturity and respect for elder wisdom during the political crisis that rocked Rivers State.
He also highlighted Wike as a committed development partner, praising his hard work and vision in infrastructure development. The political crisis between the two leaders erupted in October 2023, but it was resolved by March 2025 when Tinubu declared a state of emergency and lifted it in September 2025, allowing both Fubara and his deputy to return to office.
In 2026, both parties moved towards reconciliation, with Fubara publicly recognising Wike as the leader of the Rainbow Coalition.
